Innocence is something we’re all born with, but in the USA, it is quick to dissolve.
Parents try their very hardest to keep their children nice and sheltered whenever possible.
As an American, I’ve only been exposed first-hand to American styles of parenting.
Unfortunately, the media has turned “innocence” into an entirely different connotation.
Innocent children are good, pure, humble and all a parent would hope to raise, but American parents are subject to marketing propaganda and brainwashing, and so are the children.
Parents have adopted Pagan rituals and blatant lying as part of a normal, socially acceptable thing. Easter eggs and Santa Claus are tales told to children until the child becomes all the wiser.
This is usually the result of typical American pressure to conform. Keeping your child from being in the loop would make them sad, so parents do whatever they think will make them happy.
The media is responsible for most innocent children being corrupted at an early age. Either ideas will derive from the programs themselves, or questions will drive children to seek guidance from older or more corrupt children.
When the ideas of innocence have been replaced in the child’s mind, often the concept of lying is justifiable. To be lied to about the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and cartoon characters is enough to someone to harbor resentment if circumstances allow.
